Deadwood

New Release: Ponopolis VI – Deadwood
Last summer, I hit the road with Denise, Karin, and Mike for some hands-on research in Deadwood, South Dakota. We spent a few days traipsing around the Black Hills, soaking up local legends and history—and more than a little whiskey—while calling the Historic Franklin Hotel home. Big thanks to my crew for making it a trip to remember.
The result? Deadwood, the latest entry in the Ponopolis series.
Months after Road Dust plays one of the biggest gigs in American history, Ray and his band are flush with cash, but Ray can’t shake a ghost from his past. Flashback to the late ’90s: a younger Ray and his brother roll into Deadwood with a scheme to relieve a few tech millionaires of some easy money. But Deadwood’s got ghosts of its own—like China Doll, a legend who never quite faded away, and Dom Russo, a Chicago mob boss with his own agenda. When these two crash Ray’s plans, the whole job starts to unravel.
Deadwood is a story about the past you can’t outrun, bad luck, and the kind of legends you only find in places like Deadwood.
